Manager, Marketing, Communication and Public Relations

The National Education Trust (NET) is seeking to recruit a qualified individual to fill the following position that reports to the Executive Director:

Manager, Marketing, Communication and Public Relations

Technical & Professional Responsibilities:

·    Develop mechanisms to respond to media requests/queries in a manner which will consistently project a positive image of NET and properly address the issues arising.

·    Monitor social, economic and political trends that may have an adverse or positive effect on NET and develops strategies to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate any negative impact on NET.

·       Develop/review and documents policies and procedures to the communications and public relations’ processes of NET, ensuring compliance with GOJ and professional standards

·    Manage the administration of the Access to Information Act

·    Develop and implement appropriate mechanisms to measure and evaluate service delivery of the NET and makes recommendations to address issues or problems identified.

·    Management of the website; coordinate the provision of content materials ensuring information is current, accurate and complete.

·    Prepare speeches, briefs, position papers, etc. and arranges interviews and other forms of external communication for the NET, undertaking appropriate research to ensure accuracy and relevance of information provided.

·    Collaborate with the Donor & Partner Management Unit to develop strategies and plans for promoting the needs of the educational sector among targeted and current donors, including bilateral donor agencies, endowment partners, and members of the Diaspora etc.

·    Manage and coordinates the development of public education programmes

·    Coordinate, in conjunction with the Infrastructure Management Unit, preconstruction meetings with schools as well as ensure lines of communication are kept open to facilitate smooth project implementation.

·       Establish mechanisms to monitor the print and electronic media and prepare timely responses to issues that are relevant to NET.

·       Develop appropriate internal communication strategies for staff.

·       Plan and execute formal and informal functions and other public relations events with donors/financiers/stakeholders on behalf of NET, coordinating all the required logistics ensuring that the goals and objectives are achieved.

·    Plan and implement marketing programmes designed to promote NET locally and internationally.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

·            Sound knowledge of marketing, communication and PR methodologies

·            Knowledge of Social Media Marketing

·            Knowledge of Marketing strategies

·            Knowledge of events planning

·            Knowledge of the  polices, rules and regulations of NET

·            Sound Knowledge of the Access to Information Act

·            Sound knowledge and understanding of the local media environment

·            Knowledge of the education sector

·           Excellent planning and organizing skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

·           Ability to demonstrate integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.

·           Excellent communication and presentation skills

·           Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer applications.

·           Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

·           Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.

 

Minimum Required Qualification and Experience

·            Bachelor’s Degree  in Communications, Marketing or equivalent

·           At least five (5) years’ experience in marketing or customer front-facing operations, in which there has been the execution of public image or loyalty building.
