Digital Marketing Officer (Social Media)

The Jamaica Information Service (JIS), an Executive Agency, invites applications from suitably qualified professionals for the following position: 

Digital Marketing Officer (Social Media)
(Basic Salary $1,072,689 - $1,467,690 per annum)

Job Scope:

Under the general supervision of the Social Media Manager, the Digital Marketing Officer is responsible for conceptualising and executing digital marketing campaigns for JIS and its various clients.  The incumbent is also responsible for planning and executing JIS’s advertising strategy, and measuring and reporting on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns.

Core Functions:

• Plans and executes digital marketing campaigns.

• Measures and reports performance of digital marketing campaigns, and assesses against goals 

(ROI and KPIs).

• Creates, maintains and executes advertising strategy for JIS and other clients.

• Identifies trends and insights, and optimises spend and performance based on the insights.

• Collaborates with internal teams to optimise user experience.

• Communicates with both social media professionals and influencers to create a strong social network.

• Develops optimal posting schedules considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics.

Qualification and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, News Media, Mass Communication or a related field from an accredited tertiary institution.

• Specialised training in social media and communication.

• Two (2) years’ experience in a comparable working environment.

Required Competencies:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Good interpersonal and people management skills.

• Strong analytical, problem solving and organisationaling skills.

• Ability to think creatively, use initiative and exercise good judgement.

• Knowledge of marketing, public relations and communications strategies, approaches, tools and methodologies.

• Proficiency in the use of relevant computer applications and presentation aids.
